From the Mailbag

It has come to my attention that some of our regular customers have been inquiring as to whether there are any coupons to be had. In fact, I understand that some of you have been downright brazen in your requests, demanding so-called "freebies" as if it were your birthright. While we find your insistence mildly irksome (yet somewhat endearing), we do understand that it is only human nature to seek a bargain. After all, our distant ancestors were nomadic hunters and gatherers, and no doubt sought to acquire the most bounty for the least outlay of effort.

While we sincerely hope, for your own sake, that you are no longer nomadic, we recognize that many of you still hunt, or gather, or both. With this latest issue of Fairly Important News, we shall try to assist you in your hunting and gathering by providing a handy list of all the new stuff on the website. But first, your beloved coupons.

From the Mailbag:

Dear W-D,

Here is my order. Please ship as soon as possible. I would like to give the music box as a gift on Sept.20. Thank you.

Dear Madam,

While we strive to fulfill orders as quickly as possible, we cannot ship this order in time for your September 20 gift-giving, seeing as you placed the order on October 12. We grant that the folks in our shipping department have numerous talents; however, time travel is not one of them.

Nonetheless, we will expedite your order. Your should have it in plenty of time for an October 20 gift-giving.

Note that you have ordered a music box movement, which is a simple white box, and not a decorative music box. Normally, one would place the music box movement inside something more exciting, such as a keepsake box, cinerary urn or cookie jar.

Yours Truly,

Early A. Consternation

Dear Sirs:

Whatever you do, don't make the writer of your web site, catalog, etc., modernize or change their language. It's a hoot! That's actually what drew me to your company after browsing the internet.

I get to feed the right AND left sides of my brain by shopping with you, the artistic and the literary.

Thanks!!!

Lila S.

Rest assured. I shall remain with Whittemore-Durgin until I have shuffled off this mortal coil, or until the cows come home, whichever comes first.

Yours Truly,

Early A. Consternation

Whittemore:

Haven't ordered from you in almost 20 yrs -- glad to Google you and find you still in business.

George H.

Dear George,
