Many loyal Whittemore-Durgin adherents and correspondents have noted that the world has heard neither hide nor hair of us since March. This is due precisely to our being exceedingly busy acquiring these myriad selections of glass, tools, kits, gadgets and useful doo-dads, which we shall promulgate momentarily. First, the coupons. |

* Summer has come in. This comes from the Middle English round of the same name, composed c. 1260: Sumer is icumen in, Well singes thu Cucu And if you think for a moment that we are going to translate the rest of it for you, you are sadly mistaken. |
From the Mailbag:
I don't need anything right now, but I would like to thank Nancy for her helpfulness when I needed granite glass to replace clear glass in the old French door I intend to use on my new bathroom. She sent a sample of the very thing I was looking for. As a writer myself, well a reporter at least, I'd like to say something clever, but alas, my writing style is no match for yours, so I won't humiliate myself or waste any more of your fairly valuable time. Always your grateful customer, Dear Sir: Would you please tell me the distance between the sockets on the adjustable swivel cluster sockets (item 6705) ? I also need to know the distance from the bottom of the cluster body to the the bulb opening of the socket when the sockets hang down. If the item does not work for my purposes may I return it? Thxs, Dear Mr. S., The shop was closed by the time we received your e-mail message. We will reply on Monday with those measurements (unless one of us is so inspired that they go in on Sunday (which has been known to happen)). Without regard to the political leanings of the individuals here at Whittemore-Durgin, we have a very liberal return policy, which you can read in detail here: http://www.whittemoredurgin.com/orin.html Yours Truly, Early A.
